Is the past the future we want ? 2020 was a year that compels reflection. When the pandemic hit, as filmmakers the only way to channelise emotion was through our work. We felt a need to respond, and to question an economic and social system that is unable to protect its planet or people. As the race to normalcy continues, we feverently hope that we DON’T return to “the normal” we once accepted.

Thank you is simply not enough to every single collaborator who believed in this idea and supported in slowly growing it into a film, without anything in return.

Eight

Sometimes it takes just one person to change your life. “Eight” took Gul Panang down memory lane as we tried to capture what was in her mind’s eye without actually visiting any of the spaces where her life was made. What resulted was an art director’s and cinematographer’s dream film.

It’s easy to find a production house in a city of so many. What’s far more rare is to find a partner that handles every brief, regardless of budget, scale or challenge, with heartfelt creative and the hard, diligent work of craft. I’ve loved every chance I’ve had to work with the Running Cow team.

Sweet anecdotes, a great attention to the little details and the ever versatile HP printer helped recreate the special relationship between Shruti and her daughter. What made this film extra special was it’s almost all women crew!

Maria Goretti’s passion for cooking and family is told through her own experiences and anecdotes in this film, scripted and shot by Running Cow. A slice of real life, dressed in Christmas style, ably helped by HP’s printers. It went out to Maria’s considerable social media following with over 2350000 views.
